About Beach Blanket Babylon Shoreditch

Following 17 years as West London’s most unique and stylish venue, Beach Blanket Babylon has spread it’s wings and opened a sister venue in Shoreditch.

Taking all the successful characteristics of the Notting Hill branch and adding a few more essential ingredients, BBB Shoreditch is home to four floors, all of which boast high ceilings, imposing features and an individual focus.

On the ground floor a 100-seater restaurant with open theatre kitchens and large central marble bar dominate, whilst downstairs the cocktail lounge, also equipped with central marble bar, accommodates up to 300 guests and features a VIP area with banquet seating.

Further BBB venues are planned overseas as part of an expansion that will include the USA and Europe.

If you are paying over £10 for a cocktail and get charged service charge on top of that over the bar, you would expect it to to be pretty darn good. In the case of the cocktails at beach blanket, this is further than the truth than one can imagine. The 'drink' is so weak, dull and tasteless. My mum could conjure up a better one and she is no barman nor is she pretending to be like the barmen here. The prices of the cocktails and food are highly unjust and are borderline criminal. The service was also a complete let down. Overall beach is best avoided unless you can't get in anywhere else and you are really desperate to waste some money, then go at your on peril. It may not just be your money that you are losing, it could also be your faith in the service industry.

Honestly i cannot remember the last time i had such a distasteful evening. Probably never. This place is really taking liberties. It left such a bitter taste in my mouth, not with just the food but the whole vibe of this place. Everyone seems hostile and out to prove a point. There is such bad energy here. The clients try to hard to be trendy and you know deep down in their hearts they know they are nobodies and they take it out on the rest of the world. They dress in such a way to impress but end up having normal people laughing at them. Disguises will never cover up the reality that these people are sad, penniless and living in a unreal world. The clientele best describe this place as it all show but when you inspect it closer its all soulless, cheap and tacky.

It was our first time dining at Beach Blanket Babylon and it will be our last. Looks like everyone probably has the same experience as us as the place was empty except two other tables of two and us. Even with a virtually empty room they could not get their act together. The staff are useless, very incompetent and rude. They could not answer most of the questions regarding the small menu and did not make an effort to find the answers either. The price is very, very over the top for the miniscule portions and it was tasteless. Some seasoning would have gone a long way to add some taste to the otherwise chewy, bland food. The drinks were very weak and watered down. The toilets smelt of urine and it was freezing in the room. The list goes on and on. This place smells of an operator that does not care about customer comforts. Lets see how long this place will survive in this current climate. I suppose the proof is already evident in the empty room where the only voices you hear is off the staff chatting amongst themselves. Looking at the reviews it must be very thick skinned staff who work there, those who does not have pride in which establishment they work in. It shows as Beach Blanket Babylon sucks.

Really awful place. Tasteless and trying too hard and not succeeding. Listen to everyone in the know, don't bother unless you want to flush your money down this toilet hole. Avoid, avoid at all costs.

Zero class, zero value for money, zero ambience, zero for everything. Somebody else have already said it before, cheap chipboard interiors that will impress the Primark wearing punters that frequent this place. This place belongs in Essex as its the naffest place in london. I am more offended than upset by what they try to get away with charging for the food and cocktails. The Essex and Eurotrash may be willing to pay for this tripe but my friends and i certainly will not be giving them the pleasure to fleece us again.
